Rainforestation hosts ISN-APSN Farewell Celebration

Rainforestation Nature Park recently hosted the Farewell Celebration in the Rainforest for the 25th Meeting of the International Society for Neurochemistry, with almost 1000 international delegates in attendance.

The major international meeting, based at the Cairns Convention Centre, was held jointly with the International Society for Neurochemistry (ISN), the Asian Pacific Society for Neurochemistry (APSN) and the Australasian Society for Neuroscience (ANS).

Guests at the farewell celebration enjoyed a range of activities and entertainment throughout the evening, including the Koala & Wildlife Park, the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience, Army Duck tours, live music and star gazing.

The CaPTA Group Sales Development Manager, Cherie Glare, said the event was an enormous success and feedback had been excellent.

“The entire evening ran incredibly smoothly, from the convoy of buses bringing the delegates to Rainforestation from Cairns, to the guests enjoying an all-Australian experience in the middle of the rainforest,” she said.

“We had fantastic feedback on the night from both delegates and the meeting’s organisers – they all enjoyed the diversity of activities on offer and the chance to get up close with some of Australia’s native animals, especially as most guests were only in Australia for the meeting’s duration.”

In partnership with sister company Tropic Wings Cairns Tours & Charters, the delegates were transported to and from Cairns via a convoy of 20 buses, carefully scheduled to minimise impact to the regular traffic on the Kuranda Range.
